Music That Moves
Published on December 19, 2004 By CariElf In Music
For those of you who read my article last year (Link), you know that every year I look for new, fresh, Christmas music to add to my collection. Last year, my friends and I went to see the TSO in concert when they were in town. It's a great show, with great music and a huge laser light show, and I recommend that you see it sometime if you haven't already. This year, I fell into the trap that Best Buy sets by snaking the line for the cash registers past the boxed set section of the music department. I had been planning on buying the TSO Chrismtas CDs, but after Christmas when they would (hopefully) be on sale. I happened to see this set when I was in line, and I grabbed it. It comes with all three of their Christmas CDs + a DVD.

I think that it was November (I know that it was before Thanksgiving) but I didn't open it up until today. I was doing some cleaning and organizing in preparation for the holidays, so I put in the TSO CDs. I had forgotten how truly incredible their music is. And their Christmas story that they do at their Christmas concert every year makes me want to cry because it's so beautiful. If you don't have it, go out and buy the trilogy. It's that good. The TSO brings new life to traditional Christmas carols without losing their meaning and spirit. They also have some original songs that are incredibly moving. This music has brought me new enthusiasm for Christmas.

I agree, TSO is Awesome!!!

I just wish Jon Oliva's brother Criss could have lived to add his guitar to the mix.

Savatage was really good metal, but who woulda thunk it would have been mixed with other talent and brought us this great christmas music!! ;~D
